Maggie Hallowell, M.A.

License-Eligible Marriage & Family Therapist

Biography

Maggie brings warmth, humor, playfulness, and creativity to her work as a therapist. She practices from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens, paying attention to how identities and larger systems shape clients’ experiences. Maggie views therapy as a collaborative space where people can uncover patterns, try out new ways of relating, and move toward resilience, connection, and growth.

Clients describe Maggie as gentle, grounded, and honest—while also direct in ways that foster meaningful change. She listens closely to each client’s story, highlights the strengths they already carry, and offers fresh perspectives that open possibilities for healing. With children and families, she often incorporates play and imagination to support safe, nurturing relationships.

Maggie has a particular passion for play therapy with children and their caregivers, helping families build stronger connections. She has facilitated LGBTQIA+ youth groups, partnered with schools and community organizations, and supported families navigating complex challenges.

Her background includes counseling, case management, vocational coaching, and doula birth-work—roles that give her a broad perspective on resilience and human connection. Maggie earned her Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University New England and has provided therapy at the Center for Human Development and 18 Degrees Family Resource Center. Across all her work, she commits to cultivating authentic, respectful, and liberating therapeutic relationships.
