Position Summary

Atkinson Family Practice (AFP), with offices in Amherst and Northampton, Massachusetts, is recruiting for a full or part time Family Physician to join our state-of-the-art collaborative medical practice. Work with a motivated team of PCPs, psychiatry, behavioral health, PT, nutrition, massage, somatics, chiropractic, and health coaches in a dog-friendly, and child-friendly office where we still enjoy the practice of medicine. We use an evidence-based approach in a supportive, fun atmosphere through interdisciplinary team meetings, regular huddles and mutual support. We encourage our providers to learn new skills and seek out their own passions. Some of our providers have ‘specialized’ in sexual support, substance abuse treatment, lifestyle coaching, and more, which they offer to patients through group medical visits, prolonged patient visits or support groups. AFP works to accommodate your individual scheduling needs. We think medical doctors should do patient care and as little paperwork as possible. That is why we have ample staff for administrative support. We are also a teaching site for medical students and residents. Our physicians receive academic appointments at top medical schools. Our practices are in Hampshire County in Western Massachusetts. Hampshire County has arts and culture, scenic beauty, biking and hiking trails. Amherst and Northampton are welcoming, diverse college towns with high-ranking schools. Small-town experience with ample big-town offerings, we are only one to two hours from almost everywhere in New England, including Hartford, Boston and the seashore.

  • Starting salary is $200,000 plus bonuses.

  • We have competitive benefits, including in-house daycare for newborns and maternity/paternity coverage. Call is light, outpatient.

  • Candidates must be BC/BE in Family Medicine or Med/Peds. Role modeling of exceptional clinical, teaching and communication skills in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment is expected.

  • Full time is 29 weekly clinical hours.
