Cammie is a yellow lab mix. She has no qualms about staying behind the desk to bother the AFP office workers or sprawl out in the Provider’s Office, so please let anyone who works here know if you’re uncomfortable around or allergic to dogs and Cammie will stay in the back!

Katrina Wheeler, LPN, Clinical Supervisor
Has been an LPN for 32 years and have worked in many areas of nursing including pediatric homecare, long term care, working with Alzheimer’s patients, teaching at the local community college and a unit nurse at a residential program. Her passion is her family. Katrina and her husband have six daughters, two granddaughters and three grandsons , the youngest was just born a month ago. She loves spending time with her family, taking pictures, running Spartan races with her daughter, exploring New England and being at the beach.

Aldrich, Clinical Assistant
Aldrich is a Registered Nurse and has practiced nursing as far away as Saudi Arabia. He has worked as a clinical assistant for almost four years now which helps him effectively help patients at AFP.

Cecille, Clinical Assistant
Cecille completed her BSN degree in 2010 and has worked as a Staff Nurse in a tertiary hospital for more than two years. Before starting with AFP, she was a Nurse Review Manager for a medical equipment company. She has been with AFP for over a year now and loves it! Outside of work, Cecille spends most of her free time with her daughter.

Cynthia, Clinical Assistant
Cynthia worked in a hospital for about ten years, starting as a ward nurse and working her way to becoming a dialysis nurse. Halfway into the Pandemic, she decided to take a break to take care of her family. She moved to nursing in a work-from-home setting. Her dedication to her patients does not fall short even if she works from home, and she makes sure that patients have the best care by working as a scribe now with Atkinson Family practice. Cynthia loves the beach and eating out. Currently, she is working on her master’s degree.

Lily, Clinical Lead, Amherst Office
Lily recently graduated from UMass Amherst on her journey to become a PA! She grew up in Sturbridge MA, home of the famous Old Sturbridge Village. During her free time, Lily loves to go adventuring and spend time with her friends, family, and dog Jessie. She is clinical lead and loving every minute of it, but loves her team even more! Lily is excited that AFP has taught her much more than she could ever ask for, and she cannot wait to apply that knowledge in future endeavors.

Lorena, Clinical Assistant
Lorena is a registered pharmacist and had worked both in community and hospital pharmacies for five years. Outside of work, she is a super momma who loves to spend time taking care of her kids, Louiss and Jennielise. During her spare time, Lorena loves playing mobile games, cooking and watching movies. Working as a message nurse and scribe at Atkinson Family Practice changed her life and she is extremely excited for her journey in the coming years ahead!

Marilei, Clinical Assistant
Lei is a registered nurse, and has had more than six years of experience in the clinical field before landing at Atkinson Family Practice. She values the caring and therapeutic relationships she develops with patients. During her free time, Lei truly loves bonding with her family and friends, flipping through the pages of books and playing computer games she enjoys.

Sheehan, Clinical Assistant
Sheehan grew up in Ashland, MA and is a recent transfer student at UMass Amherst studying chemistry on the pre-med track. He previously worked as a medical assistant in Holyoke. In his free time, Sheehan likes to go running, biking, and trying new places to eat. This is his first time being in Western Mass but he is excited to explore the area and take in all the area has to offer while working at AFP!

Stephanie, Clinical Assistant
"Do good to others and good will come back to you in unexpected ways." This is what Stephanie believes in and applies to her everyday life.
​
Her passion and resilience make her effective and productive in her place of work. She works well under pressure and recognizes the importance of honesty and trust in a team setting. A multitasker, she also loves to teach, imparting her knowledge and experience to nursing students and newly hired nurses in the intuition she used to belong to.

Christopher, Triage Nurse
Christopher recently started working at AFP and will serve in the role of the practice’s Triage Nurse. After graduating from Earlham College with a BS in biology in the mid 80’s, he trained as a Paramedic at Northeastern University. Afterwards he worked for a private ambulance company, responding to 911 calls for 17 years. Christopher attended the second bachelors nursing program at UMass Amherst in 2003 and graduated with a BSN. He spent the next 18 years working as an RN in a local emergency department, the last many years as a Charge Nurse. A long time Amherst resident, he lives in North Amherst with his wife, an ever changing collect of pets and three of his four adored children. Christopher enjoys travel, the beach, outdoor projects, biking, kayaking and visiting the Pioneer Valley brewerys.
